Provence

The Provence region is justifiably one of the most popular tourist regions of France. Ever since reading A Year in Provence in the 1980's the area was high on my bucket list. In 2015 dreams became a reality when we had the opportunity to spend three months in the village of L'isle-sur-la-Sorge. From November 2015 we lived in a beautful apartment in the heart of the village. We ate baguettes, sipped on expresso, savioured Burgundy and lived a life that we could only dream of.

The images in this galley are just a sample of what we experienced. All I can say is you must visit - it is everything you could ever imagine it to be - plus a whole lot more.

The Best Cafe

Au Chineur

You simply must visit Au Chineur. A favourite with locals, it is the best place to hang out during the day with an expresso and then in the evening, sip a beautiful red and bite into a rare steak with frites. When you visit, tell Pierre I sent you. We visited the cafe on the day we arrived and then every following day we lived there. Pierre is now a good friend.

The Best Apartment

La Dorée

We chose this property by location. It is the best. Situated in the village overlooking one of the main lanes, we awoke each morning to freshly brewed coffee, with croissants so soft and flaky from the bakery 100m away, that to only eat one was a crime. If you want to feel like you are in Provence, and be part of the lifestyle - look no further.
